Sun Kissed Beaches At Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca  is the southern most tip of the islands. Playa Blanca, Yaiza has amongst the best beaches in the island of Lanzarote.

 

Papagayo

 

It is amongst the best beach in the islands of Lanzarote. It is inside a protected area of the island – Natural Park of Los Ajaches There is a € 3 charge per vehicle for entry. The beach is relatively small in size 120 meters in length and about 15 meters in width.

The beach has fine white sand and the waters are calm. Papagayo is in the extreme south part of the island. It is on at the edge of a volcanic ash covered landscape. The surrounding area is a rocky mountain. The sunshine is very bright especially during the summer the beach is jam packed. There is a catamaran service which also brings in tourists to spend the day during the day.

The water is quite calm. There is car parking service available.

 

PAPAGAYO BEACH

 

 

Playa Quemada

 

It is a small fishing village in Yaiza district with less than 150 inhabitants. The beach has black sand unlike those of its sisters with white sand. The word “Quemada” means burnt in Spanish. The village has 4 – 5 lanes and all practically dedicate to fishing and storage of fishes. You can eat some of the finest fresh fishes in the area.

 

Playa Flamingo

 

It is an artificial beach located in between Playa Dorada & Playa Blanca and very close to the Papagayo Playa, Natural Park of Los Ajaches. Playa Flamingo has very calm waters and hence ideal for a full family vacation. Children can be left alone due to the no waves they can play in the water. The beach is quite small at 200 meters and 20 meters wide. 

Playa Flamingo was nearly destroyed by hurricane in November 2005. A protective sea wall was re-built and completed in early 2011.

The beach has several 4 and 5 star hotels in its vicinity. 

In between Playa Dorada & Playa Blanca and very close to the Papagayo Playa, Natural Park of Los Ajaches. Playa Flamingo has very calm waters and hence ideal for a full family vacation. Children can be left alone due to the no waves they can play in the water. The beach is quite small at 200 meters and 20 meters wide. 

 

Playa Dorada

 

It is another of the artificial beach located in Playa Blanca, Yaiza The beach has artificial fine white sand, and this beach is also very close to the Natural Park and its Ajaches the renowned beach of Papagayo.

Playa Dorada beach is a complete all in one beach. It offers entertainment for all. It has lovely calm water, people can rent a bed with umbrella and it offers all amenities such as wash room, parking facilities. There are several activities such as Jet skiing, Para gliding, wind surfing etc that once can enjoy at the beach. The thing to remember is that the beach is extremely popular and always full especially during the summer months.

At very short distance from the beach you will find several 4 and 5 star hotels such as Bahia Blanca Rock Aparthotel H10 and H10 Lanzarote Yaiza Princess Hotel.

Services such as bars and restaurants are found in the Mall at the Papagayo, beachfront. 

 

Playa Mujeres

 

It is amongst the best beach in the islands of Lanzarote. It is inside a protected area of the island – Natural Park of Los Ajaches There is a € 3 charge per vehicle for entry.

Playa Mujeres is located between the beaches of Coloradas beach and the Playa de la Pozo, at the southern end of the island at the tip of Papagayo.

The beach is also close to several good 4 and 5 star hotels in its immediate vicinity is the Hotel Papagayo Arena.

 

Playa Del Pozo

 

Located inside a protected area of the island – Natural Park of Los Ajaches There is a € 3 charge per vehicle for entry.

The Playa del Pozo, is also known as Playa de la Cruz, is a long beach located between Playa de Papagayo and Playa Mujeres.

During the old times the beach was a nudist beach. Now however it is a mixed beach with people of all kinds frequent this beach. The beach has fine white sand.

The beach is also called by the following names Playa de la Cera, Caleton San Marcial or Caletón de Cobre

 

Playa Blanca

 

It is amongst the newest develop in the area of Yaiza and most popular and most commercial. The beach front is dotted by restaurants and shops throughout the beach.  

The beach is a mix of sand and rocks. It has good facilities of wash rooms, parking areas, life guard. There are several restaurants and hotels in the vicinity. From Playa Blanca there is a regular ferry service connecting Lanzarote with Fuerteventura.  In the evening often there are local groups practicing the local style wrestling called Lucha Canarias very similar to the Japanese Sumo.

Playa Caleta del Congrio

 

It is a nudist beach in the islands of Lanzarote. It is inside a protected area of the island – Natural Park of Los Ajaches There is a € 3 charge per vehicle for entry.  During the week days it still is a popular nudist beach. On weekends due to the crowd it is more of a mixed crowd rather than a nudist beach.

The beach does not provide any special service to users.

 

Playa Puerto Muelas

 

It is also situated inside a protected area of the island – Natural Park of Los Ajaches There is a € 3 charge per vehicle for entry. It is also situated very close to Papagayo. It is a beach which is popular during the summers but frequented very little besides these summer months. It used to be a nudist beach earlier but now it is a mixed beach.
